The Visualising Data Newsletter - Issue #27, October 2026
Published 3 days ago • 3 min read
The latest issue of the Visualising Data Newsletter, chronicling the most insightful and delightful data viz content, has now been published on my website.
Each month I collect, curate, and publish a collection of the best, most interesting, and thought-provoking data visualisation-related works I've encountered since the last issue.
Whether you are working on a dataviz, working in dataviz, or even working towards working in dataviz, you'll hopefully find sources of inspiration and information from this month's roundup.
This latest collection has been curated from the excellent content I came across since the last newsletter was issued in August 2026. It has therefore been a two-month gap due caused in part by extensive work and travel, so apologies for the delay in getting this one out!
There's a couple of changes to share about this month's issue.
Firstly, I've decided to reduce my collection from 50 items down to 40. The curating task only ever grows. With ever more work being published out there, but social media algorithms and search reach killing the web, the discovery task requires a more pluralistic effort, to dig into more obscure places away from the giant platforms. There are more people sending me more suggestions (always welcome but not always possible to include), but with that is a deluge of non-humans bombarding me with junk requests for inclusion. It all means I just need to reduce the publishing task a little bit in order to cope and to give myself more chance of punctually hitting the monthly frequency, which hasn't been the case over the past year.
There's another big change to this month's issue, and indeed to all future newsletters.
For multiple reasons (email server memory issues, formatting compatibility inconsistency, subscription bot attacks, expensive pricing plans, publishing-on-other-platforms fatigue, occasional need to make edits after publishing) I'm now going to publish all future monthly roundups on posts from my own website.
These emails issued to subscribers will, from now on, simply serve the purpose of notifying you all of updated monthly postings being available to access. It will provide the direct link for you to read the latest collection. This change means more people will be able to view the collections without obstacle, just at the price of a single additional click compared to normal. And that click can be performed just here 👇.
Thanks, as always, to you, subscribers, for your interest in receiving these posts, I hope you'll appreciate the motivation for the slight change to proceedings.
If you want to dive further into the roundups from the past, browse through all the archive issues on my Newsletter page. In coming months I will look to transfer these older collections back into native web pages.
Happy Viz'ing!
Andy
